Studiologic VFP 1/15 is a single piano-style sustain pedal in the accessories and cables category, manufactured in Italy by Fatar. Solid rubberised housing with a chrome-plated lever, normally closed contact (closed at rest), TS mono jack 6.35 mm connector. The /15 variant is intended for keyboards and synthesizers that require normally closed polarity – including selected Roland, Korg, and other models that use reversed pedal logic.
The /15 Polarity – When to Choose This Variant
Sustain pedals come in two types: normally open (/10) and normally closed (/15). The /15 type means the circuit is closed at rest and opens when pressed – the opposite of the standard arrangement. A keyboard detects which pedal type is connected at startup and sets the correct polarity accordingly. Connecting a pedal with the wrong polarity without restarting causes sustain to be permanently active, only releasing when the pedal is pressed. On Studiologic SL and Numa series keyboards polarity is detected automatically – connect the pedal before powering on the instrument. For other manufacturers, check the polarity requirements in the keyboard's documentation. If you are unsure which polarity you need, Studiologic also offers the VFP 1/25 with a built-in polarity selector switch.
