Apollo x4 with UAD Analog Classics — a 12x18 desktop Thunderbolt audio interface with four Unison mic preamps and a UAD-2 QUAD Core processor, bundled with the Analog Classics plugin collection. It extends the Apollo Twin format into a configuration built for tracking a full band without stepping up to a rackmount system.

Gen 2 Elite-Class AD/DA conversion runs at 24-bit/192kHz with 129dB of dynamic range, using dual-crystal clocking to keep jitter low for critical monitoring. Four mic/line inputs with Unison technology plus two independent front-panel Hi-Z inputs allow recording vocals, guitar, bass, and an acoustic instrument simultaneously, each through a different preamp emulation — Neve, API, Manley, or Fender — without losing character at the point the signal enters.

Four independent tracking paths instead of a two-input bottleneck

An engineer working with the Twin X model is limited to two combo inputs, which forces submixing or an external preamp during a band session. Apollo x4 provides four full Unison inputs plus two Hi-Z, so guitar, bass, vocal, and an acoustic instrument can all hit the interface at once, each with a preamp emulation matched to the source.

Monitoring through a full effects chain without added delay

The QUAD Core processor handles UAD plugins independent of the DAW's buffer, so across four simultaneous tracking paths each performer can hear their own fully processed monitor signal — compression, EQ, and reverb — at under 2ms of latency. Expanded outputs (two monitor, four line-level ALT, two headphone) let you run main monitors, alternate speakers, and separate headphone mixes at the same time.
