Wunder Audio CM49 S is a large-diaphragm tube condenser microphone with continuously variable polar patterns (omni, cardioid, figure-eight) controlled from the power supply. Built on a pressure-gradient principle with two identical cardioid capsule systems mounted back-to-back, it delivers a natural, rounded tone and adapts easily to different acoustic environments.
The slanted, large-volume grille reduces standing waves and resonances while giving the capsule more breathing room for an open, warm sound with immediate vocal presence. A selected NOS Telefunken tube drives the triode electronics, and the passive stage is optimized for audiophile purity using a Suprema Silver Gold Oil capacitor noted for exceptional micro-dynamics and spacious imaging.
The CM49 S uses a screw-locking seven-pin Tuchel connector for superior EMI/RF rejection. The new-generation PSU provides clean DC, worldwide mains capability, and precise voltage trimming via multi-turn trimmers; a military-spec Grayhill switch handles pattern selection.
