sE Electronics sE4100 Pair is a factory-matched set of two large-diaphragm true-condenser microphones, built for accurate stereo recording – from drum overheads and acoustic instruments to lead vocals and orchestral arrangements.
The sE4100 is the cardioid-only sibling of the multi-pattern sE4400, sharing the exact same handcrafted 1" gold-sputtered brass capsule. The single polar pattern is a deliberate choice: a tight, consistent cardioid with strong off-axis rejection – no interpolation between patterns, no compromise. The matched pair designation means both microphones have been individually measured and selected for matched frequency and sensitivity response, so you get a coherent stereo image straight out of the box in AB, XY or ORTF configurations.
Handling loud sources and low-end rumble
Two metal switches on the body give direct access to four sound-shaping options. The -10 dB and -20 dB pads handle high-SPL sources – guitar cabs, brass, close-miked snare – without overloading the capsule. The 80 Hz and 160 Hz low-cut filters cut floor rumble, HVAC noise and proximity-effect buildup when tracking vocals or close-miked instruments. The included close-miking shock mount is machined aluminium and decouples the microphone from mechanical vibrations transmitted through the stand.
Ready for stereo out of the box
A stereo mounting bar is included, enabling immediate XY placement without additional hardware. Both microphones ship in a rigid carry case with form-cut foam – each mic seated securely for transport and storage.
