In practice a full +8 dB stays focused around the selected centre frequency instead of spilling into the bottom and the top. Cut and boost are stepped at ±1 dB, ±2 dB, ±3.5 dB, ±5.5 dB and ±8 dB, so every setting can be written down and recalled step for step.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch3\u003eDual mono, which means MS ready\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBoth channels carry fully independent frequency and gain switches, so the VSE-2 drops straight into an MS insert with no modification. You can lift the low end in the centre while pulling it out of the sides, and treat the top the other way round. A.I.R. mode sets the gyrator to work at the threshold of hearing and extends the top end without adding presence or harshness, which pays off on cymbals and finished mixes.
