This section uses the same T4B optical attenuator found in the LA2A and LA3A, but optimized for mastering. The second stage is a class A discrete VCA compressor. There are no electrolytic caps or ICs in the signal path. Six ratio settings are available: 1.2:1, 2:1, 3:1, 4:1, 6:1, and 10:1. Additionally, there are six attack settings: 0.1, 0.5, 1, 5, 10, and 30 milliseconds. An insert filter is provided in the sidechain to limit heavy bass material.
